What's the difference between square top and round top landscape staples?

A common question we get asked is the difference between square top or round top landscape staples. A square top sod staple is the type of staple with a flat top. Meanwhile, round top landscape staples are rounded at the top.

The difference is the uses of each of these landscape staples.

• Square top landscape staples are used for securing landscape fabric, weed barrier, dog fences and electric fences, and securing synthetic turf. 
• Round top landscape staples are used to hold down irrigation pipes.
