What are notched stakes used for erosion control?
Notched stakes provide a superior, mechanical locking point for securing erosion control materials. The notch securely grips the twine or netting of straw wattles, erosion blankets, and silt fences, preventing them from slipping up and off the stake under the pressure of water or sediment flow.
Why is Douglas Fir a good wood for erosion control stakes?
Douglas Fir is ideal for wood erosion control stakes due to its high strength-to-weight ratio and natural resistance to rot and decay. It's strong enough to be driven into compacted job site soil without splitting and durable enough to last through long-term projects exposed to the elements.
What is the difference between grade stakes and survey stakes?
Survey stakes are typically used to mark property lines, boundaries, or control points for a project layout. Grade stakes are used specifically to indicate the final elevation (grade) that the ground needs to be built up or cut down to. Our versatile stakes can be used for both purposes.
