Hitching Post Ministries (HPM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children who have experienced trauma through a proven, relationship-based model.
Each child is paired one-on-one with a mentor and a horse for 24 weeks, creating the consistency and safety needed for trust to form. Healing happens through presence, patience, and connection—meeting each child where they are and moving only at the pace they’re ready for.
A Story of Life Transformation
One young girl entered the program after spending part of her childhood living in a car, carrying deep fear. As she and her siblings were fostered and later adopted, HPM walked alongside the family, supporting each child as they learned safety and connection.
In the round pen with her horse, Trigger, she began overwhelmed by fear. Over time, that fear gave way to strength.
One day, she chose to ride freely—arms lifted—a powerful expression of trust in herself, trust in the horse, and trust in a caring adult.
