Types of anchor bolts for concrete?
There are a variety of types of anchor bolts for concrete, here's a summary of some of the different types:
- Wedge Anchors: Consists of tapered end with an expansion clip, wedging into the concrete as it is tightened.
- Sleeve Anchors: Consist of a metal sleeve, a nut, and a bolt. Once tightened, the sleeve expands into the concrete, resulting in a reliable and secure hold.
- L-Shaped Anchor Bolts (also known as concrete bent anchor bolts or cement anchor bolts), they are identified with the 90-degree bend at one end and are generally embedded in wet concrete.
- Strike Anchors: One-piece anchors that are hammered directly into pre-drilled concrete holes. These anchors have internal threads.
- Drop-In Anchors: Dropped into a pre-drilled hole and requires a setting tool to secure into the concrete.
What size drill bit do I need for a 3/8 wedge anchor?
